This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I strive to create a positive learning environment for my students. I also help my students to learn about being responsible. Desk Pets are a great way to combine the two. I reward my students with desk pets and then they work to create a habitat for their pets.
The desk pet habitats are small plastic containers, students earn items such as food (food-shaped erasers) to give to their pets.
I create a desk pet store where students can shop each week for items for their pets. Students love their class desk pets and being able to create their desk pet homes.
