Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By Learning music, specifically young students develop many neural pathways that help improve their cognitive ability for long term. Memorization, pitch identification, sense of beat and coordination are some examples that will enhance these kids' ability in the daily learning of their classroom, and influence the way they retain information such as letter recognition, rhyme association, reading comprehension and basic math reasoning.
My student's demographic is mostly Afro American and immigrants both with an extremely low income situation.
I firmly believe that music is an scape for their home and living situation, that is why my main goal is to provide them with a skill that will allow them to thrive and become better in every possible way.
I will use the desk bells lined up with a program called Prodigies.com that use these bells to play many songs, they even have books that pair with the desk bells.
