Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students want to work, live, and interact with their typical peers within the community, yet, finding the right employment in traditional businesses can be difficult. Hands-on experience is vital to their success as independent adults contributing to their community.
By providing my class with an iPad, you will be giving my students the opportunity to nurture their creativity while working on small business skills.
My students were blessed with a printer and a Cricut mug press from previous DonorsChoose projects. These donations allowed us to start our classroom-based enterprise journey by creating and selling products. With the iPad and apple pen, my students will have the opportunity to create their own designs and make merchandise to sell in the community. We will be able to use the profits for community-based learning trips, group activities, and materials needed for future projects. This will allow them to learn adult life skills in fun real-life experiences.
