My Students
I am a 2nd grade special education teacher in Brooklyn, NY. My school is an Early Childhood Center that ranges from Pre-K to Grade 2. We have a large population of English language learners. The staff at our school pride ourselves on creating a love of learning in young children so they may carry it with them throughout their lives.
The students in my class have been diagnosed with disabilities such as speech and language disorders, learning disabilities, and delays in motor skills.
They have several different learning styles and it is often a challenge to meet the specific needs of each and every child.
My Project
I am always looking for ways to allow my students to get their creative juices flowing in order for them to express themselves in different ways. Some children like to write. Others like to draw. I have found that my students love to use technology in the classroom.
I am requesting a Cricut Air 2 Beginner's Bundle to allow my students to use technology to help them express themselves in the classroom.
This project will give my students the opportunity to create various images or text and print them on different materials. They can create their own t-shirts, bags, posters, and so much more with the hardware included in the bundle.
I can't wait to see all of the ideas they come up with. I would love to see the looks on their faces and growth in their self esteem when they create something from their own imaginations!
