This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Math to 95 5th grade students in Houston, Texas. My school is a Title I school in the inner city. Students face multiple challenges which inhibits their ability to come to school prepared with proper materials for learning. Students at my school work diligently to increase their learning and participate in the fine arts magnet program. The students here are all artists in one way or another. Our school specializes in the visual and performing arts. They are always striving to be their best in every aspect, and do not make any excuses for themselves. Thank you for reading!
My Project
Every year our students participate in various competitions and the one I am so excited about is our Math competition. It would mean so much to my students to be able to have custom team shirts, which otherwise would be too costly for individual students. We have placed in the past and I would love to give our students the opportunity to design and wear our team shirts with pride! Our 5th grade students are also trying to fund raise for a trip to Washington D. C.
Most of our students will never have an opportunity to leave Houston.
This Cricut Maker will open up more fund raising opportunities for our 2019-2020 students. Please help our vision come to life.
