This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember being in 8th grade science and having very few materials to help make it fun?
My students attend school in a district where money is very tight in the science department.
They have inquiring minds, but it is often difficult for them to do experiments because of funding purposes. My students would love to have a more interactive science experience than the district alone can provide for them.
My Project
The Density Cubes will help my students to understand the abstract concept of density. It is very difficult for them to picture this topic without having a hands on experience. These cubes will allow students to explore what factors influence density for themselves instead of just seeing and hearing an example. Students learn best when they experience for themselves, and the Density cubes will allow them to do so for this abstract concept.
My students would benefit immensely from having Density Cubes in the classroom.
They can take the knowledge they learn from these experiments and apply it to everyday situations. They will also better understand the concept of density by having a hands-on experience.
