My Students

I teach 24 first graders. In my classroom I like to provide my students with a variety of learning experiences to provide them opportunities to ensure academic success. Our district has the slogan "college and career ready." That is exactly what I am preparing my students to be. Academic success looks different for every student. I work with each student during whole group and small group instruction to help them develop the necessary skills in order to achieve their goals that will lead them to academic success.

My students are looking forward to using more hands-on learning throughout the school year.

All of my students practice skills and show what they learned during our whole group instruction by using whiteboards. Each day my students enjoy being able to demonstrate their knowledge.

My Project

These whiteboards, erasers, and dry erase markers will improve my teaching by helping my students demonstrate their knowledge. Every student deserves the opportunity to share what they have learned. I strive each day to provide various ways for my students to demonstrate this knowledge. My students love having the opportunity to share with the class! Sadly our current student whiteboards have been used so much that the corners have become a hazard and are duct taped to avoid student injury.

With these new whiteboards and supplies, my students will be able to share what they have learned and help me to more effectively meet their educational needs.

The best way to increase student ability to learn is allowing them to demonstrate their knowledge and these whiteboards will continue to help my students grow stronger in all academic areas.
