Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are an amazing, kind-loving, and energetic group of kindergarteners. My class has twenty-six personalities from diverse backgrounds with equally diverse leaning needs. They have had a great year learning about animal groups, ecosystems, and bugs.

My students will earn a chance to adopt desk pets as they maintain focused kind behaviors.

They will earn them for making good choices during station time, reader's workshop time, while lining up and at other times throughout the day. They will keep their pets in small clear containers on their desks. These desk pets which are a variety of fun animal erasers will be used as a motivational tool to keep my students on track for the remainder of the year. Further, they will create writing pieces using descriptive and creative writing skills to document the "life" of their pets.

My students are also in need of new whiteboards. The whiteboards are an essential tool in our class. We use them daily for writing practice as well as for math practice. Our current boards are old and stained and ready to be replaced. My students deserve to have new, clean materials to use daily.
