My Project
High school can be a difficult and challenging time for students. Teens can become susceptible to the apathy epidemic-an epidemic that far too often drowns their love of learning and growing as they face fatigue, hunger, and blockades to good mental health. However, as an educator, I believe this phenomenon can be combated with creative resources, snacks that provide energy, and engaging lessons.
Dry erase markers, snacks, and new folders, while seeming like small victories, are actually great weapons in the battle against apathy as they conduce a safe, challenging learning environment where students feel excited and cared for.
These much needed supplies and resources help students rise to the occasion, even on the toughest of days.
While I alone do not have the means to address all the issues facing my school, with your generosity, I can validate my student basic desire to be cared for every day when they walk into my classroom. Your generosity, support, and belief in the importance of education is deeply appreciated.
