This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The past 2 years have not been easy on our students. Many families have been hit particularly hard, since they were struggling even before the pandemic. This has created added stress levels in parents as well as their children. Schools have now, more than ever, become an essential place for children to feel secure, cared for, and redevelop the social skills lost during quarantine. My 3rd graders had not been in a classroom since they were in first grade. We are working hard making up for lost time as we focus on filling the gap and preparing them for the next grade level. However, sometimes they need a little extra support.

Giving students the gift of fun games and activities to play during recess will help them develop social skills, build friendships, and enjoy playtime, so they can come back to the classroom refreshed and ready to learn.

With your generous support not only will students be able have more options during recess but will also be able to listen to music. Music always helps elevate children's mood. With so much pain I see my students experiencing due to the pandemic, I would be deeply appreciate any help in bringing a little fun and joy back into their lives.
