Decodables Unlock Reading

My Project

My Kindergarten students come to school with a wide variety of backgrounds. Some students know their letters and can write their names. Others know no letters and have never written with a pencil. We take them from where they are, and utilizing best practices rooted in the science of reading, we end the year with a class full of amazing readers.

These beautiful Guided Phonics Decodable books would be used daily in small groups to allow the kindergartners to have colorful, professionally bound books to read.

Over the past few years we have used Guided Phonics Decodables that have to be photocopied each week. The stories are great, but the black and white photocopies leave a lot to be desired. These books would also save paper and time needed for copying.

Learning letters, sounds, decoding, heart words, and all the things that go into learning to read is hard, but these books provide stories that are perfectly aligned with the reading curriculum we use and are fully developed using the science of reading.
