This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year we are introducing a new way of reading for our students. No more reading text by a level but instead by a phonics need. When reading it is known that decodable text "allow children to apply and practice phonics knowledge precisely as they read." I am adding decodable text to the classroom library to provide a funner experience for reading while helping students grow their phonological skills. Having access for decodable texts will help students transfer their skills for reading to writing as well. Reading and writing works side by side. I want all students to have a love for reading while over coming challenges and owning their areas of needs when they are mastering the skills. We will all become better readers together.
