This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an Intensive Reading Interventionist, I work to implement research-based explicit, systematic interventions with students in grades 2-5 who need additional reading support.
The students I work with daily are hard-working, dedicated and kind students and I seek to continue to support their academic growth through this project.
In an effort to continue to engage students in our work, I am seeking to purchase high-interest, Science of Reading aligned, decodable readers. These texts connect to the skills we are learning and will help build comprehension while practicing pivotal foundational skills.
These sets requested would allow for each student in my group to have their own book (and a teacher copy) and practice together while working through a series of texts that follows characters over time. Additionally, sound cards will provide pictures to support visual learners struggling with letter/sound recognition.
