Help me give my students decodable books to help them practice their letter sound correspondennce.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Tsai's classroom raised $353
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second grade students range in the reading progression. Many are struggling readers that need books that offer the opportunity to blend sounds together and develop the ability to recognize words quickly and effortlessly, and experience independent reading success. Decodable readers help students to ‘sound out,’ rather than guess unknown words or use picture clues.
Decodable books are sequential in phonics skills and is the bridge to books with more complex vocabulary and sentence structures.
These books are designed with dyslexia font and cater to students with dyslexia working to learn to read. These students can be challenging to detect, but studies show that dyslexia affects 1 in 5 people. We would greatly appreciate your support!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
