My Project
With the recent shift in reading instruction in Connecticut, teachers are finally being coached on best practices for teaching their students to be life long readers. Using the Science of Reading, I have already seen a positive change in how my students are learning to read, and it is so exciting! Although the Science of Reading is helping my students learn and grow, I am in need of the appropriate books to put in my kiddos hands. I work in a district with a wide variety of families from all different backgrounds—cultural and financial. I need decodable books to use in the classroom, and to send home with students as homework. Many of my families do not have the means to purchase online programs, books, or materials to support their child’s learning, so it is up to me to give them what they need. Thank you so much for your help with this—my kids will be thrilled to have all of these new engaging books to read at school and at home!
