My Project
Students will be fascinated by the story of Hatchet. A survival story is always relatable for middle school students. My students are able to relate to making decisions, but the process of decision making the right decision is most important. This novel tells about the story of a young boy that finds himself abandoned, cold and alone.
Brian must make life saving decisions for himself in order to survive.
His mental health and social emotional welfare are at the core of this novel. Hatchet is a great tool to use when teaching these important issues.
