December Morning Work Bins for Growing Learners!

My students need cotton balls, Play-Doh, Magnetic Letters and storage containers for our Morning Work Bins!

My Students

My students attend a school that houses kindergarten through 5th grade. I currently have 23 kiddos in my classroom that love to learn!

My students are very curious about their world around them and love to learn through hands-on materials, especially during our Morning Work Bins.

I have found through my years of teaching that each child can potentially have a different way of learning.

My Morning Works Bins are designed around our state curriculum, but are all hands on activities, so that I can differentiate my teaching to accommodate the different learning styles.

My Project

My students are in love with our Morning Work Bins! I have created diverse Morning Work Bins that are themed for each month of the year, to accommodate the different learning styles in my classroom! At the beginning of the year, we talk about how kids learn differently, and how it's okay for someone to not learn the same way as you do. With this in mind, my Morning Work Bins allow me to teach my students in different ways, and help them to see that learning differently is okay!

Our Morning Work Bins are filled with hands-on materials that my students can manipulate to increase their learning, but we need more materials!

My students will be able to practice identifying letters, identifying the sounds that letters make, increase their fine motor skills by manipulating Play-Doh to make letters, and they can do several counting and addition activities with the cotton balls. My students are also starting to make short, 3 letter words. The magnetic lowercase letters will allow them to practice listening to the sounds the letters make and then building the word. Our possibilities are endless!
