My Students

Our STEM high school is a new public high school in Gwinnett County, GA. We are a Title I school, with a student body of 639, of which 70% qualify for free or reduced rate lunch. Our school is filled with passionate teachers and bright, creative students eager to succeed in computer, engineering and design fields. One of our unique pathways is Marketing and Management. Students complete a series of rigorous, skills-based classes to prepare them for successful careers. They participate in DECA as a co-curricular activity that allows them to expand their learning from the classroom to real-world project-based applications. Their creative solutions, passion, and optimism inspire me daily.

My Project

The state DECA Competition is an overnight trip that will provide a wonderful opportunity for students to shine as they compete among the best in the state in competitive events related to their career interests of hospitality, management, finance, and marketing. Students also participate in leadership workshops and trainings. For many students, this will be their first opportunity to network with professionals in their career field and learn about challenges and innovations in that field. With nearly a 70-year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more then 10 million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. DECA's programs and activities constantly evolve to reflect the latest technology and applications of cutting edge educational research. We are grateful for your support !
