This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items in this project include social emotional learning books that will help students understand different emotions, including sad, happy and anger. These books will help students learn about how we can manage our emotions and what are possible strategies we can use to calm down.
The Little Spot books will help facilitate conversations about when we feel certain emotions and how everyone can feel, sad, angry, and other emotions.
These books will also give students the opportunity to learn about kindness, respect and other important SEL concepts.
My students will benefit from these materials because as students with disabilities, they are still learning the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behavior, as well as how to understand what emotion someone is feeling. With these materials, they will have examples of emotions and other important SEL concepts that are necessary to promote pro-social skills within the school setting.
