My Students

Our students are hardworking learners who strive to do their best in the classroom, their community, and at home. As part of a large district, and with a growing poverty level currently at 62%, our students face many challenges. They rise to those challenges, however, with grace and a hunger for success and knowledge.

Every challenge our students encounter is another opportunity for success.

Teachers and students set a high bar, whether that regards learning standards, expectations, or creation, and students work hard to rise to the occasion.

My Project

Every student in this world deserves a good and differentiated education. While all students are coming into school this year with a lack of key knowledge, my students also come with the disadvantage of poverty. My school is currently in an initiative to better the education of students through data tracking.

With this iPad, I will be gaining the ability to track student mastery of each of the eighth grade ELA standards.

Not only does data tracking help me understand where each of my students is struggling, it also gives me the ability to change my instruction and differentiate station work to ensure everyone can succeed. The iPad will allow me to move freely between students as they are working while tracking their understanding and progress toward learning objectives. This will also allow me to gather data that I can use to create differentiated, individualized lessons for students, which will help increase student growth and learning. It will provide me with a reference to which I can return when planning or having discussions with my ELA team about next steps.
