My Students

I work at a Title I school, filled with culturally diverse learners; in my classroom, you will find Asian, African-American and Hispanic students with unique personalities and various learning styles and levels. Many of my students struggle with reading and math.

My students are able to receive a free breakfast and lunch regardless of income; many of them also receive free backpacks filled with foods to take home on the weekends, as well as supplies for school.

The children travel from a variety of neighborhoods to get to school daily with some families walking as far as 30 minutes just to bring their children to school. Many of them don't have much, but they do have a passion for learning.

My Project

My students love hands on experiences. The Dash Bot will give them what they love in addition to introducing them to coding. Many of my students do not have access to adventures like this in their home lives. The students are bright and eager to learn. They will go far in life and with additional 'fun' learning, they will become excited about learning. Dash will also be an additional STEAM learning experience in our classroom.

My students have big dreams for their futures.

Learning to code at an early age will give them a head start on succeeding in life. My dream is to help them become productive members of society while doing what they love.
