My Students
Our students are from various different backgrounds across north-east Houston. The students are always willing to help others, and I want to give them a chance to learn about something that they have been interested in for quite some time.
Our campus has a stem focus this year and I am looking to try and meet that need through coding.
We need the resources to help us meet this need. Students for the past several years have been learning about coding at home and telling me about it with so much excitement.
I want to give them that opportunity when they are at school as well.
My Project
Coding is a topic that my students love to learn about, but they need the tools to do this in a hands on manner.
Many of my students are very interested in this topic and are constantly trying to learn more about it, on their own and when they are at school.
The Amazon Fire and Dash will open up their understanding of the coding process. It will allow them to see coding in action and begin to apply it to real world examples. My hope is that it will lead to critical thinkers who can work cooperatively and that it will help some of them realize that they are truly interested in a STEAM career.
