This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are curious, creative, and eager to explore hands-on learning through STEAM. They thrive when given opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve, and think critically. What makes them special is their enthusiasm for learning and their willingness to take risks. They embrace challenges, and these tools will give them the opportunity to experience real-world applications of coding in a way that feels like play.
This project will enhance their experience with our Dash robots by providing exciting new tools—Dash Gripper, Whiteboard Mat, Sketch Kit, and Launcher—that will expand their ability to engage in coding and robotics.
With the Dash Gripper, students will explore engineering concepts as they design challenges where Dash picks up and moves objects. The Whiteboard Mat and Sketch Kit will encourage creativity and precision as they program Dash to draw shapes and patterns, reinforcing math and spatial reasoning. The Dash Launcher will add an element of physics, allowing students to experiment with force and angles in coding challenges.
My goal is to deepen their understanding of computational thinking while making learning engaging and interactive. These resources will also help develop teamwork and perseverance as students collaborate to problem-solve and refine their coding sequences. By supporting this project, you’re empowering my students to see themselves as engineers, artists, and problem-solvers of the future!
