Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are young leaders in a Title I school in Staten Island, New York. My students are eager to learn but often times lack materials to help them succeed. This year I will have the pleasure of teaching the whole school of about 150 different learners from diverse backgrounds and different educational needs. In our school classroom, students are able to follow our school's mission and vision by learning through exploration and hands-on activities. This year I will be teaching dance and technology to all students K-3. Being that this is a new program, we are in need of some classroom supplies to help our students further their learning in the areas of technology and dance.
My Project
FHES is a new school in Staten Island, New York. This is our first year implementing a dance program. Through that dance program we have brought out many hidden talents in our students. Our students have been invited to perform at our district's borough arts festival at the Saint George Theater. Our students are in need of dance shoes and shorts to complete their dance costumes. Our students would be forever thankful to be given the gift of their first pair of dance shoes which will help them dance their way to success in the future.
