My dance classes are my favorite classes to teach because my students are motivated and they really seek to push themselves to the limit. They are a talented bunch of creative young people who inspire me every day.
They have an incredible ability to soak up choreography like a sponge and their group dynamic is very caring and compassionate.
My students are eager learners who are diverse culturally and socioeconomically.
Our school is a college preparatory high school in Southern California with a rigorous curriculum that is highly demanding. Students are expected to rise to the occasion academically despite social and financial obstacles that they may face. Our school is designated as a low socioeconomic status, and we are deemed a Title I school.
My Project
My dancers work so hard on their choreography and we desperately need matching leggings. One of the aspects of dance that puts the "icing on the cake" is to have matching costumes. My students put in hours of work on their routines for their performances and it is so meaningful to them when their costumes match.
We are working toward our Winter Dance Performances and I would LOVE to surprise them with new leggings that match for this performance.
