I teach at a Title One magnet elementary school. My students receive dance instruction once a week throughout the year.
My students are in grades kindergarten through fifth grade.
All students receive dance once a week. I also have four performing groups that meet once a week and one after school group that meets twice a week. Most of my students would not receive dance outside of school due to financial difficulties.
My Project
I put on several shows throughout the year. We have a Veteran's Day show, Multicultural show, Holiday show, a big end of the year show and the school musical. Also, we are asked to perform in the community for different events. My students would be wearing these tutu costumes for performances this year, and for years to come while performing.
I want my students to look and feel like real dancers.
