This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The dancers at my school are a phenomenal group of 6th-8th graders who train daily to hone their skills. My dance team declares themselves as dance prospects seeking to enter performing arts high schools. These learners are physically expressive, socially conscious, and creative individuals. As a community, we view education and art-making as tools for empowerment, self-reflection, and social change. The Fall presents many opportunities for the students to participate in district auxiliary and community dance competitions.

Help students learn dance techniques to prepare for the upcoming county auxiliary dance competition.

Students will report after school eager to embrace dance expression and choreography to prepare them for the fall competition. To prepare students and student leaders we will need a portable speaker to provide rehearsal music and wireless microphones to assist students with the standard 8 count direction for choreography. Dancers look forward to competing against neighboring schools and dance lines with the spirit to win.
