The coach, assistants, and I work with a wonderful group of dancers in grades 6-12. They are energetic, caring, and joyful. The students work hard to uphold good citizenship expectations, excellent grades, and juggle several after-school activities besides the dance team.
Our dance team of middle and high school students wants to be the best they can be and deserve all the support they can get to achieve their goals.
We know our students will make magic happen with some support from our community.
My Project
Many of our students on the dance team need support in improving their strength and flexibility skills. They are coming out of a year and a half of quarantining from the COVID pandemic. The students have not had the opportunities to get exercise and stretching support as they normally would have. About half of this year's team is brand new to dance and is working on learning all the new skills needed for performances.
Our dance team students would greatly benefit from the flexibility and strength resistance bands to condition their bodies.
With the bands, the students can work with our coaches to improve their points, splits, kicks, and other skill techniques.
