Dance Costumes

My students need tutus for our upcoming dance show. Due to the overwhelming number of dancers I do not have enough costumes for everyone.

My Students

I teach at a high poverty Elementary Magnet School of the Arts. The students in kindergarten through fifth grade receive dance. I also have several performing groups and afterschool ballet.

My students are sweet kids that have a passion for dance.

They love coming to dance class once a week. My girls love coming to ballet performance groups and jazz dance groups. Also, I have students that come twice a week after school for ballet. They are always eager to perform and get on stage.

My Project

My students have their big end of the year dance show. This year I have a lot more ballerinas than in years past. I do not have enough costumes for two of my groups to fit the need of the groups. I am thrilled to have so many young ballerinas and I want them to look and feel like real dancers when they go on stage. My dancers would perform so much better when they have the confidence and appearance of a real ballerina. This is why I need extra tutus. They will be used over and over again for shows throughout the year and next.

The donation will help build students' self esteem and confidence.

I want my dancer to really shine when they perform for their peers and the community. I think that the new tutus would help them perform so much better and get them excited for the end of the year dance show.
