My Project

Cleaning is a skill students will need throughout their whole lives. It also helps keep the classroom environment healthy and routines running smoothly. Using a rotating schedule, students will share the responsibility of cleaning the classroom and earn small incentives like gum or candy along the way.

Research shows that when students feel safe and comfortable, their affective filter lowers and learning becomes easier.

Students can earn a variety of rewards for positive behaviors in class, like positive phone calls home, lunch in the classroom with a friend, and small incentives like gum or candy. Students are more likely to respect their classroom when they are in charge of cleaning it. With your help, students can improve their attention to detail, organizational skills, and sense of responsibility for communal spaces. All it takes are cleaning supplies and a little something sweet!
