This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 3rd-5th graders. My students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them these past few years and are not only surviving but thriving in this very different environment. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in makerspace activities and STEM challenges and are very curious. There are over 1,400 students in our school. I have a large population of English language learners. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids.

This project will ensure my morning group of students can start each day with a routine.

They will each get their own Growth Mindset Daily Journal to read, reflect, and answer prompts at the beginning of each day. We will also use the math journals to learn about multiplication, division, money, etc. while being able to differentiate instruction. With these journals my students will be able to show independence and increase their literacy skills.
