My Students
My students are a diverse group of learners who come from all over the city to attend our public Montessori school, which is one of four in the city. My students range in age from 3-6 years old. They come to school with varied interests and are excited to learn more in the classroom, garden and computer lab!
These learners are always looking to move and explore.
This is my third year with this group of students, and I am so excited to continue the great journey!
My Project
A calendar is an integral part of any classroom. We gather around the calendar to find out whose birthday is coming up when we are taking a field trip and to figure out which season we can expect next. Part of creating a Montessori environment requires picking materials that are beautiful, functional and will stand the test of time. This wooden calendar will allow children to determine the date for years to come. Not only will we be able to keep track of the day, year and season, we will also be able to follow the moon phases! This calendar will become a treasured piece of our environment!
