Daily Living Items for Students with Moderate to Severe Disabilities
Help me give my students items that will enhance their daily living and independence skills by learning to vacuum, make their own beds, take care of personal hygiene, and engage socially with their peers.

My Project
I work with students who have moderate to severed disabilities, making traditional educational expectations less-relevant to their lives. My students need help mastering basic skills of self-care in order to support their ability to have independence. Many of my students are non-verbal and working on very basic skills.
The items that I have requested will help my students gain independence and keep them in good health.
Because of the nature of my students' disabilities, many spend more time sitting and lying on the floor than their typical peers. My students would benefit from learning how to vacuum to keep the floor clean, and their health would be better safe-guarded in a clean environment. We need a vacuum cleaner.
A goal for my students is that they are able to take care of themselves. Items like hairbrushes are needed to learn personal-grooming. Toothbrushes need to be kept clean and organized for students to learn oral hygiene. My students would also benefit from learning to make their own beds and keep their area clean.
Finally, my students struggle with social interactions. Practicing interactions using games helps my students to better interact with peers and adults. They learn to cope with disappointment and to be kind to each other.
In conclusion, the items I have requested will greatly enhance the health, independent living, and social skills of my students.
