This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. My students come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.

In my bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects, including reading, writing, math, and science.

My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students are in need of additional resources in order to be able to learn and succeed.

My Project

All of the first graders are expected to learn many state mandated objectives. One of these objectives is grammar.

It is extremely important that my students have resources and the opportunity to daily learn and practice grammar.

I know that the daily sentence correction journals will provide my new students the support that they need in grammar. These journals will provide my students the opportunity to learn about letter capitalization, punctuation, spelling and verb tenses. Therefore, I do ask for your support in order to receive these great journals that will greatly benefit my students.
