This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Cypress Hills Collegiate Prep is located inside of Franklin K. Lane Campus. Your donation will not only impact the students that attend C.H.C.P. but also the entire campus. C.H.C.P. has been given the opportunity to host a Brooklyn North Science Fair. One of the many projects being conducted is the Water Quality within the school and surrounding community. By donating Water Analysis Materials you will empower scholars to be able to estimate the numbers of bacteria present and to allow for the recovery of microorganisms in order to identify them.
Scholars that make up the community at C.H.C.P.
are inner-city youth from low-income housing. These scholars would not receive an opportunity to become modern-day scientists without your assistance. Scholars will be given an opportunity to provide data about the current state of the water and help identify possible contamination sources. Ultimately you are providing opportunities for scholars that encourage to learn about Science. Scholars will become curious, which helps them understand and come up with questions based on what they've learned. Many scholars will find Science inspiring and exciting, so they try to learn more about it.
