My Project
Learning CVC (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant) words using the Lakeshore beads, blocks, and games is crucial for special education students as it lays the foundation for their reading and writing skills. These simple, three-letter words are designed to help students develop essential phonemic awareness, which is the ability to hear, identify, and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words. This skill is particularly important for students with learning difficulties, as it enables them to decode unfamiliar words independently and build confidence in their reading abilities. This predictability allows students to practice blending sounds to form words, a fundamental skill necessary for reading fluency.
