This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, energetic learners who thrive when given hands-on opportunities to apply their creativity. They love building, experimenting, and seeing how their ideas can come to life. Many of them have limited access to tools outside of school, which makes classroom projects even more meaningful. When given the chance to work with real materials, my students feel empowered and excited to learn.

I am requesting a Chompsaw, a classroom-friendly cutting tool designed for precision and safety.

This tool will allow my students to cut wood and other materials for STEM, art, and project-based learning activities. Having a Chompsaw in the classroom means we can expand the types of projects we do, moving beyond paper and cardboard into sturdier, more realistic creations.

Students will use the Chompsaw for:

STEM Projects: Cutting wood pieces for engineering challenges, bridge designs, and model building.

Math Applications: Measuring, marking, and cutting with accuracy reinforces geometry and fractions in a real-world context.

Art and Creativity: Creating wooden signs, models, and crafts that connect art with science.

Collaboration: Working in teams to design, cut, and assemble projects fosters problem-solving and communication skills.

Our students learn best when they can see the results of their ideas in tangible ways. A Chompsaw allows them to move from design sketches to actual construction, helping them understand the value of precision and planning. For many, this hands-on experience sparks interest in engineering, woodworking, and the trades—fields that provide valuable skills for the future.

With your support, my classroom will become a space where ideas are not just imagined but built. This tool will not only help my students complete projects but also teach them the pride that comes from creating something with their own hands.
