This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have almost 700 students enrolled at our campus. The majority of our students are English language learners and qualify for free lunch programs. We offer an after-school program that gives low socioeconomic students a variety of classes to choose from and develop certain skills. These range from cooking to computer coding. As the computer lab teacher, I see all students in class at least once a week.

They come eager to learn and excited to take on any challenge.

They look forward to the special classes they have available.

My Project

I have 24 computers in my lab. That's 24 mouse cords and 24 headphone cables and 24 keyboard cables all hanging down the table causing a potential tripping hazard. At least once a day someone gets up and starts walking only to get yanked back by the headphone cord. Or someone gets up and finds their legs are tied together from the keyboard or mouse cables.

These cords are driving us crazy!

Help give each of my students a wireless mouse and mouse pads. And rid our computer lab of cables!
