Cut-Rite Cutter to Cut Right

My Students

Ours is a public magnet school. Students travel from all over town to attend our school. We are not without our struggles, especially when it comes to the school budget. Despite everything, though, our students achieve. Over 90% go on to college; 10% get full scholarships to college. Our students are diverse and revel in their differences. Groups of friends are multicultural. They are engaged and very bright. These great kids give me hope for the future. Teaching my students is so rewarding. I strive to help them become more creative.

As one of the top schools in the city, our students overcome many obstacles to reach their educational goals.

Art is a way for students to develop creative personal expression. Students are encouraged to be self sufficient in the art room. Supplies are available for students as they need them. One thing I can't let them near is the old paper cutter; it's too dangerous. I need to replace it with one that is safe and sturdy. This tool will help students with their self directed learning. My bright students work on ambitious, creative projects and a new cutter will make their art-making activities even more independent and productive.

My Project

We need a quality paper cutter, not a wobbly paper cutter. My high school art students would be allowed to use this paper cutter, for sure! The one we have right now is too scary and I won't let them near it. This slows down students who are inspired and ready to make art because if I have to custom cut paper, students may have to wait. Students are not allowed to use our present cutter which is super old, has a dull blade, and no safety bar. As part of the art class, high school students should be able to use a paper cutter. This new cutter will be a welcome addition!
