My students need 5 iPad minis to help practice math and science skills.

My Students
Listening to me teaching, and completing the same old boring worksheets, is not what you will find in my class. My students are at all different levels, in my room, so they complete work that is on their own level.
My school is in a fairly rural town, about 20 minutes outside a small city.
My students are a diverse group, from different socioeconomic backgrounds, races, and religions. 75% of my class receives free lunch. They range in ability levels from the 3rd to the 99th percentile in Math. Many of these students do not have educational technology at their home. I try to engage these students in activities on the iPad. They all love it. They are learning, and having fun at the same time.
My Project
With all the video games and technology students get to play with, when they get home, it's no wonder today's little digital natives have a hard time getting excited about doing a worksheet. It's time to take advantage of their interests, and use what they love, to get their attention, by bringing iPads to the classroom. It's much more interactive and engaging, than just a piece of paper.
It seems there's an app for everything these days. All these iPads are changing the way students grasp new concepts, and allow them an infinite amount of opportunities to learn. Fun educational games take learning to a new level, getting students more excited about learning.
My students will use to iPads to research science content, review material with games, such as Kahoot. Kahoot is an interactive game, where students compete to answer questions. Students will also use Front Row, an app where students work on math skills, at their own pace. Students will love using the iPad's to read and play math games.
We all agree, students learn at different paces and through different learning styles.
It's particularly important for those lower students to get the personalized learning they need. That's where the iPads come in. I can reinforce what is being taught with the iPads ,allowing students to practice certain skills, at their own level and pace.
