This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am very lucky to be teaching a wonderful group of third graders. The majority of them are English language learners who come from low-economic families.

In third grade we teach cursive handwriting skills, but due to budget cuts our school wasn't able to buy cursive workbooks for our third grade students this year. It is very unfortunate because I believe cursive handwriting is slowly becoming a lost art due to computers and other technology.

In order to solve this problem I would really like to have cursive workbooks for each of my students. With the workbooks they will be able to practice their handwriting skills after each lesson is taught. The cursive workbooks will also be a good resource because they provide examples of good cursive writing.

Your generosity will make it possible for my students to have a cursive workbook of their own. They will be able to practice their cursive skills where they can see examples of good cursive writing and hopefully teach them to love it and use it.
