My Project
California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law a bill that requires the teaching of cursive writing across the state.
California Assembly Bill 446 amends the state's education code to include, "instruction in cursive or joined italics in the appropriate grade levels," for grades one through six.
Every classroom in California will be mandated to teach cursive as part of every day curriculum. This project would give my students the proper materials to practice cursive every day in the classroom. Cursive helps to promote fine motor skills and students that struggle with long hand writing could really benefit from this.
