Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kindergarten is where students develop a love of learning and literacy. My kindergarteners are learning how to read, write, and speak English. By supporting this project, you will be helping my multilingual and English language learners engage with authentic texts and access the general education curriculum. My current school only has one set of Fishtank curriculum texts for 3 classrooms to share. As the English as a Second language teacher, I have had to borrow, purchase, or find the texts online for students to listen to. Listening to a book online does not provide students with the same authentic read aloud experience that all kindergarten students need and deserve. Supporting this project will allow me to utilize these texts in read alouds, shared reading, author studies, writing projects, and independent reading for my students.

I want my ESL students to have access to the same resources as their native English speaking peers.

Please help me purchase these curricular materials so that my ESL and multilingual learners have an equitable learning experience to all children in my district.
