My Students
My school has recently been devastated by a wicked tornado and wiped out most of the school. Our community has rallied and is strong. I want to continue challenging my students to read and see what is happening week to week in the world of Science. These are wonderful magazines, very informative!
Our school community is a small, rural town in southern IN.
It sits one block away from a 4-way stop sign. Our school services 40% free and reduced lunch. On top of this, our school and community have been devastated by a recent tornado which took most of our school. Teachers and students will be moving to a temporary location to finish the year out. We were not able to salvage science equipment to take with us. My students were so excited for our unit coming up where we dissect frogs. I have approximately 90 7th grade students and about 25 high school students who would love reading these articles in the Current Science magazine and see what is new in the Science world. Please help me put a smile on their face and make learning fun while keeping them up to date on new discoveries and new technology that is on the cutting edge in today's world.
My Project
My students have always enjoyed reading these magazines and discovering new information and new research in the field of Science. They always look forward to seeing a new edition show up in our classroom and can hardly wait to open them up. Current Science is very educational for the students but also keeps me informed on topics as a teacher. This magazine not only makes reading fun for my kiddos but also creates great classroom discussion.
Because our school is ripped apart right now and cannot be used, we are in a temporary classroom situation to finish the year out.
Our resources are very limited. I honestly feel this magazine will continue to spike their interest in the field of Science and will be a great resource we do not have at this time. Each Current Science magazine covers a bit of all the sciences......physical, life, earth.....it's just a wonderful teaching tool.
