This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Current events are integral to the learning environment of a history class. The New York Times Upfront magazine would be a great addition to the lessons in U.S. history and students can learn to make those important connections from the past to events happening in their lives today.

My students today are constantly using technology with their cell phones and computers.

This subscription to an online and print version of current news events will have a major impact on their learning. My students are the next generation of leaders in their community and I hope that offering this resource, they will be able to know just a little bit more about the world we live in and how they can be a positive force in it.
