This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Scholastics News not only sparks curiosity in students but also makes them love and enjoy reading. Every issue of Scholastics News is self-contained lessons that connects students’ lives to the current topics. There is even a digital component that includes interactive activities which supports with multiple reading levels. It is common core standards based.
Scholastic News helps to build and reinforce language art skills that students need.
Skills such as, making inferences, citing text evidence, cause and effect, just to name a few. Scholastic News supports Common Core standards for Language Arts including Reading Standards for Informational Text and Foundational Skills, as well as standards for Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language.
