Help me give my students new books to read over their winter break!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Ceresia's classroom raised $488

My Students
My students are energetic and excited to learn. My first graders thrive in a structured environment. They live in a community on the west side of Chicago. It is a beautiful and strong community, but lacking resources.
When they come to school, my students have many needs that need to be met, and we work to meet them, but learning to read is a top priority!
Despite my students' wide range of reading levels, they all love books and can't wait to explore our world of literacy in first grade this year.
My Project
My first graders LOVE reading! When they see it's their turn for the independent reading center they are very excited to curl up with their new books for the week. I read aloud picture books to the class on Fridays and they love pretending to talk in the characters voices and guess what will happen next.
While our classroom is full of quality and engaging literature, many of my students have limited access to books outside of school.
Our winter break is two weeks long and I do not want my students losing their love of books over this time. Funding this project will allow my students to go home with new books that they can call their own. I have picked specific books for each child and I know that they will love them!
