This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an amazing NYC school in Flushing, Queens. I teach fabulous 4th graders that mean the world to me. They are so sweet, so kind, and so thoughtful. They strive to learn and inspire me everyday with their passion, humor, and affection. The majority of my students are super knowledgeable English Language Learners, with a mix of Mandarin and Spanish speakers!

My Project

I truly believe that my students will enjoy reading and look forward to book shopping every week with this diverse selection! It will allow for independent reading to be a time in which they escape the classroom and discover different worlds and perspectives through the books they read and ultimately, share these books with their classmates. It will also give them more options for their classroom independent reading books as well as their take home books! They'll be able to experience the wonderful smell of a new book and enjoy crisp new pages.
