Culturally Diverse Books for English Language Learners

Help me give my students a classroom library full of culturally relevant books. My students are predominately Hispanic with limited English proficiency. Goal = classroom books that are relatable, interesting, and accessible to inspire a love of reading!

My Project

I am a high school English Language (ESL) teacher. This classroom library will make a huge difference by giving my English language learners (ESL levels beginner through advanced) access to reading materials that are culturally relevant, inclusive, relatable, attractive, engaging, and accessible to a wide range of reading levels. Many of these students come from impoverished backgrounds, and some have interrupted schooling. They all have the goal of growing their literacy skills--one reason getting them to read is SO important. You can see in the picture that our classroom library selection is small. Can you help us fill these shelves? It would be a dream come true. Your donation will inspire literacy growth and a love of reading not only among this year's wonderful students but also among future students for many years to come!
