Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, imaginative, and full of energy. Many come from culturally rich but underserved communities, and I’m always seeking new ways to affirm their identities while helping them grow emotionally and academically. This project supports both those goals through music and mindfulness.

The instruments I’ve selected including hand drums, egg shakers, rainsticks, rhythm sticks, and ocean drums will allow my students to explore sound, rhythm, and traditions from around the world.

Music is not only a joyful creative outlet, but also a path to connect with cultural heritage. Paired with the Mindful Kids card deck, we’ll also use these materials in our calm corner to help students reset, regulate, and reflect.

My goal is to create a learning environment that values every student’s voice, identity, and emotional needs. These hands-on resources will support inclusive practices, celebrate cultural expression, and foster a more peaceful classroom community. Thank you for helping us build something truly meaningful.
